Magleby's Syrup

1 cube butter
1 c. sugar
1/2 t. baking soda
1/2 c. buttermilk (alt. 1/2 cup milk mixed with 1/2 t. vinegar)
1 t. vanilla

Boil for 1 minute. Add vanilla just before eating.
*Baking soda causes it t0 bubble quickly and quite a bit, so it's best to use a bigger saucepan.
